Since my beginnings in paragliding, I always have been fascinated by some pilots of my club telling stories about landing on the summit of Mont Blanc in 2012. I was wondering what kind of experience it would be and if I would be up to the task one day.

High cloud base, not much wind and strong thermals - the 2nd of June was a really epic day! NOVA pilots flew a total of 22 FAI triangles over 200 km. And one outstanding feat: the new tandem world record of Stefan and Uli Lauth - a 232 km FAI triangle on a BION 2.
The magazine Thermik has tested the MENTOR 6 in their issue 5/19. The editors are confirming exactly what we communicate about the XC-potential of this wing. Read the summary and the short assessment here.
As well as the applied innovations like Zig-Zag 3D-Shaping, the Mini-Rib Vector Tape, Double-B splits and the newly designed risers, on the MENTOR 6 the angle of attack of the outer wing also plays a significant role in terms of performance. Practical insights for flight practice can be derived from the directly related characteristics of the…
Terfens, 1st April 2019 – NOVA introduces a revolutionary innovation in paragliding: a microprocessor-controlled pilot assistance system, which is permanently installed in the glider and in future it will enable the networking of individual wings via the fast G5 mobile phone network.
For the MENTOR 6 we developed a number of performance-enhancing innovations. This is also true for the risers. It has a differentiated A3 riser transmission, as well as a optimised Speedbrake Riser. This offers considerable advantages, especially in accelerated flight. The new riser allows the MENTOR 6's cross-country potential to be fully…
Philipp Medicus has been working at NOVA for nearly ten years and in the past five he has been the head of the design and testing team. This year, he and Luis Depping (NOVA harness designer), decided to make a detour on their way to the Coupe Icare and headed to Mont Blanc. Incidentally, the highest mountain in the Alps at 4808 meters.
Werner Schütz, Urs Haari and Armin Leitner have won the sports class of the national German, Swiss and Austrian cross-country championships – all flying a NOVA SECTOR. With this impressive achievement, the pilots have demonstrated the outstanding cross-country potential of this wing.
For the last twelve years we have been awarding the Pilot and Newcomer of the Year at our annual Team Pilots Meeting. In 2018, the award went to Toni Brügger (SUI), Hans Tockner and Tommy Hofbauer (AUT). "Newcomers of the Year" were Maxime Boudot (FRA) and Christoph Feichtl (AUT). So, why did they win?
NOVA Team Pilot Rinaldo Vuerich lives near Rome and belongs to the best XC pilots in central Italy. In August he flew a new record from Monte Cucco, following the “Magic Line” of a huge convergence with his SECTOR.
