As in the previous year, the NOVA Climb & Fly Team did not miss the opportunity to hold a joint team meeting. Despite the pandemic, it was possible to spend a wonderful weekend at the Volkzeiner mountain hut in East Tyrol in a responsible manner and with a lot of distance from civilisation (in the truest sense of the word). The CFT local legends…

NOVA and Nicola "Nick" Donini announce the start of a long-term cooperation. The 25-year-old took part in the Red Bull X-Alps last summer on a NOVA XENON - so both partners know each other well and appreciate each other. In future, the Italian will act as a brand ambassador for NOVA, will fly NOVA gliders in the cross-country online leagues, as…
At the annual Pilots Team Meeting, NOVA once again awarded pilots who have rendered outstanding achievements to the Austrian brand. The two Germans Andi Ziegler and Markus Kaup as well as Hans Tockner from Styria were honoured as “Pilots of the Year 2021”. Manuel Ploner from East Tyrol received the "Newcomer of the Year" Award. The selection of the…
At the Red Bull Dolomitenmann 2021, the NOVA BANTAM dominated the field of participants and the result lists. Chrigel Maurer and Aaron Durogati took first and second place in the paragliding ranking. A total of 34 out of 98 pilots started with a BANTAM, and no less than eight BANTAM pilots were among the top ten.
Théo de Blic won the last competition of the Acro World Tour in Albania with his NOVA GLITCH and thus defended his title as overall Acro World Cup winner. The Frenchman had been active in the summer on a new playground by participating in the Red Bull X-Alps and had to work his way back into acro mode. He succeeded in convincing style: Théo won all…
Since the founding of the NOVA Pilots Team sub-team in July 2020, three female and seven male pilots have been climbing and flying the highest and most beautiful mountains in the Alps under the name NOVA Climb & Fly Team (CFT). The focus is on the passion for para-mountaineering, i.e. the combination of paragliding with climbing and alpine touring.…
Distracted by all the X-Alps buzz, the community almost oversaw that NOVA Norwegian team pilot Gunnar Sæbu flew two new national records on June 9, 2021 on his trusty NOVA TRITON 2 Light. While XContest calculates 271.16 km open distance, the new Norwegian record in free distance is now 253 km and 251 km to declared goal. The flight was launched in…
The tenth edition of the X-Alps has come to an end. What a great show! The irresistible Chrigel Maurer has won for the seventh time in a row. And the other athletes delivered fantastic performances and provided the best entertainment for us couch potato pilots. Yesterday, blogger Roli Mäder philosophised about the athletes' performances, the risk…
By the time this blog post goes online, dear readers, it won't be 24 hours until the 10th Red Bull X-Alps are history. Time for a summary - split between today and tomorrow. As blogger colleague Gottbrath did so vividly yesterday, today I'll try to supplement the blog with some general and personal thoughts and keep it interesting. Following these…
It is the third last day of the Red Bull X-Alps 2021 and slowly the euphoria and the speed of the events are dying down a bit. Therefore, in this post we want to turn our attention to a few basic things - apart from the rather overseeable ups and downs in the ranking. Let’s have a look at the performance of the athletes, what can go wrong and why.…
